The Honourable Justice Julia Lonergan was sworn-in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 21 March 2017. Her Honour graduated from Macquarie University with a Bachelor of Arts, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney before being admitted to practice as a solicitor in 1983, beginning work at her parents’ firm TP and J Lonergan in Parramatta. Her Honour was called to the bar in 1997, and took silk in 2012, and has spent her career as an advocacy coach in the Bar Practice Course, served on Bar Council and has been chairperson of Professional Conduct and Equal Opportunity committees.
