Justice Edward Muston

The Honourable Justice Edward Muston was sworn in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 2 December 2025.  His Honour graduated from the University of Wollongong with a Bachelor of Laws with honours, having previously undertaken a degree in Agricultural Science.  His Honour was called to the Bar in 2003 and appointed Senior Counsel in 2015.  As a barrister, he maintained a national practice with a focus on commercial law, insurance law and the law of obligations.  He was regularly retained to advise and appear in connection with issues of public law and regulatory prosecutions.  Throughout his career, Justice Muston contributed widely to legal education and the regulation of the legal profession in NSW.  In November 2025, he was honoured with life membership of the New South Wales Bar Association for his exceptional service to the Bar Association and the profession of law.
