Justice Stephen Free

The Honourable Justice Stephen Free was sworn-in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and as a Judge of Appeal on 12 May 2025. His Honour graduated from the Australian National University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts and Laws with first class honours and a University Medal in Law, before attending the University of Oxford where he obtained a Bachelor of Civil Law and Master of Philosophy in 2000 and 2001 respectively. His Honour was called to the bar in 2006 and took silk in 2018.
