The Honourable Justice Richard McHugh was sworn-in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and as a Judge of Appeal on 20 August 2024. His Honour graduated in 1992 with First Class Honours in Arts and Law from the University of Sydney, before being called to the bar in 1995. His Honour undertook a Masters of Law at Yale University graduating in 1997, and practised as an attorney in New York. His Honour returned to Sixth Floor Selborne Wentworth in 1998. His Honour was one of the founding members of Banco Chambers where he practised from 2005 until 2024. His Honour took silk in 2006.
