Justice David Hammerschlag
The Honourable Justice David Hammerschlag was sworn-in as a Judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales on 30 January 2007, and currently serves as Chief Judge in Equity. His Honour graduated from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, with a Bachelor of Arts in 1974 and a Bachelor of Laws in 1977, at the ages of 18 and 21 respectively. After working as a solicitor, his Honour was called to the South African Bar in 1983 and became a reserve lawyer for the South African Defense Force. After emigrating to Australia in 1986, Hammerschlag J joined the New South Wales Bar in 1991 and took silk in 2000.
