Revenue List

On 25 September 2025 the Chief Justice reissued Practice Note SC Eq 10 – Revenue List, with a commencement date of 25 September 2025.

The revised Practice Note includes the following changes:

• General updates to terminology and formatting.
• Provides information regarding the operation of the list.
• Removes paragraphs relating to the initial directions hearing, online court and interrogatories.
• Encourages the use of a single or court appointed expert and the taking of expert evidence concurrently.
• Requires parties to participate in or consider participating in mediation.
• Updates the usual order for hearing in Annexure B.

Background

This Practice Note was issued on 10 August 2012 and commenced on 10 August 2012.

This Practice Note applies to proceedings in, or to be entered in, the Revenue List of the Equity Division of the Supreme Court.

Matters may be entered in the List if they are proceedings in which the Commissioner of Taxation or a person holding an equivalent office in a jurisdiction outside Australia is a party; proceedings in which the Chief Commissioner of State Revenue or a person holding an equivalent office outside New South Wales is a party; or proceedings in which an issue has arisen in relation to a law under which any of the above exercise functions.
