Judgments provide a detailed record of the facts of a case, relevant legal principles, applicable statutes, and reasons for judicial decisions.
Most Supreme Court decisions are published via the NSW Caselaw website.
Decisions are also reproduced on AustLII. This collection includes historical judgments handed down before 1900.
The NSW Law Reports are published by the Council of Law Reporting for NSW. You can buy an individual report in the NSWLR, SR (NSW) or NSWR using the pay-per-view facility on their website. The cost is $18.00 + GST.
If you are unable to find an electronic version of a judgment, you can complete the " Application for copy of reasons for judgment" form. Registry staff will attempt to locate the judgment for you, and send you a copy. The form sets out the fees payable on this service, which are prescribed in the Civil Procedure Regulation 2012.
To help registry staff process your request with minimal delay, please try to provide all the details sought on the form.
